A modern building of 2500 m2 designed with the aim of giving the artworks the role of protagonists and to induce silence and contemplation.
The museum building, which can be accessed through LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura’s entrance hall, extends along Bernardino Luini square, running parallel to the former Palace Hotel. Its façade finds its completion near the lake, allowing the visitors to admire the surrounding panorama through its wide windows. The museum spreads over three exhibition floors - with a total surface area of 2500 m² - which accommodate temporary exhibitions of Swiss and international artists.
The interiors – simple, versatile, and flooded with light – have been designed with the aim of inducing silence and contemplation; what is more, their state-of-the-art standards of security and conservation make them suitable to realise large-scale projects while offering the visitors a superlative quality experience.
