A highly anticipated tradition of the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, the New Year's Eve Concert to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, returns on December 31.
The great star of the evening this year will be American conductor Robert Treviño, who will lead the orchestra in a sparkling program inspired by Strauss's Viennese atmospheres, with a Rossinian touch and Offenbach's Parisian vivacity.
Beloved melodies by Josef Strauss (the sparkling Jockey-Polka), Johann Strauss Jr (numerous polkas and the famous overture from Fledermaus), Gioachino Rossini (with the overture from William Tell) as well as Jacques Offenbach (excerpts from the ballet Gaîté parisienne) will be heard.
A toast offered to the audience to celebrate the arrival of 2026 is planned at the end of the concert.
