ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES AT MASI (PALAZZO REALI VENUE)

 

Accessible parking

The closest parking space for vehicles accompanying people with disabilities is located at no. 2 Piazza Riziero Rezzonico.

 

 

Bus stop

The nearest bus stop is Piazza Manzoni, where lines 1, 4, and 439 pass.

From the Piazza Manzoni bus stop, with the lake behind you, cross Via Canova and turn right. The entrance to MASI is about 10 metres further on, on the right side under the arches.

 

 

MASI entrance

The entrance to MASI is located under the arches. The door opens automatically from the side and is 80 cm wide.

 

 

Ticket desk

The ticket desk is located at the end of the short entrance corridor. The counter is 116 cm high.

 

 

Cloakrooms and lockers

The cloakroom is in front of the ticket desk and has security lockers.

 

 

MASI Lift

The lift is located in front of the ticket desk. The door is 75 cm wide and the lift itself is 130 cm deep and can carry up to 8 people/630 kg.

 

 

Exhibition rooms

All the exhibition rooms are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The Palazzo Reali venue is a historical building: ticket desk staff will inform visitors of any particular accessibility restrictions.

 

 

Studio

The Palazzo Reali Studio hosts the museum’s cultural mediation activities.

The Studio is located on the 3rd floor, which is only accessible by the stairs. It is not wheelchair accessible. For groups of people with reduced mobility wishing to take part in a cultural mediation activity, the mediation team will arrange an alternative area.

 

 

Service dogs

Guide dogs, service dogs and hearing dogs are all welcome to MASI.

 

 

Special exhibits

Visitors will be informed by ticket desk staff when there are special exhibits (with lighting or sound effects).

 

 

Toilets

The toilets are on floor 1 and floor 2 and can be reached by the stairs or lift.

There is an accessible toilet located in the East Wing. To use it please contact the ticket desk.

 

 

Wheelchairs

The Palazzo Reali venue has a wheelchair for members of the public to borrow. It needs to be reserved in advance. To book it please contact Aglaia Haritz, aglaia.haritz@lugano.ch, +41 (0)58 866 42 38 (Monday and Thursday).
